Back in my Middle School and High School days my collective interest in music and computers led me to play with various software tools for creating and recording music. One of the earliest experiments was writing Q-Basic code to make the computer play “the song that never ends” and other melodies through its internal speaker (it sounds hilarious).
Not too much later I began using ModTracker and ScreamTracker as an alternative to MIDI. Interestingly enough, my little brother Sean is experimenting with very similar software to make electronic music. I wanted to share one of his songs with you. It’s called “Creative Burst”…have a listen. It reminds me of Depeche Mode in their early “just can’t get enough” days. However, I’m sure it was really inspired by some Japanese-flavor of techno only the DDR generation could love.
